How many years old is vintage
How old does something have to be before it is classed as "Vintage" and the same with "Antique". Antique clothing refers to any garments that pre-date the nineteenth century; the Belle Epoque era. Vintage usually refers to wine or the year a good or excellent wine was produced. It doesn't have to be really old; anything older than five or ten years would probably be okay.

What can sometimes be confusing is that items that are vintage are often described as retro and so there is a one sided overlap of the two terms.

Delving further into what these terms actually mean can help you to buy and sell old items with more confidence. Buyers in the know understand that an antique is something quite specific, and not just "anything old.
